TOS Account Statement Import "Invalid File Format"
Posted by Andy Mitchell (Import), Last modified by Nicholas Bender on 18 March 2015 08:23 PM

You may receive the "Invalid File Format" error when trying to import a TOS account statement CSV file.

To resolve the issue, please see the following steps:

1. Check that the field sequence is correct. It should be Exec Time, Spread, Side, Qty, Symbol, Exp, Strike, Type, Price, Net Price, Opra. This is not the default field sequence so please make sure you set this up correctly.

2. The account statement can sometimes be exported from TOS with the first field being 'sub-group'. This column is difficult to see on the TOS platform so you may need to check the field setup itself. If this field exists, remove it before exporting the CSV file.

3. Check that the file only contains equity and/or index options. ONE does not currently recognise futures or futures options.

4. There are several video tutorials available from the Video Library Section located on the online userguide main page, this can be accessed from the Support ribbon within ONE.

Below you will find direct links for the online tutorials which can guide you through the import process within ONE and also the entire setup/export process within TOS.

Export from TOS:

Import to ONE:

If you are still unable to import the file, please create a support ticket attaching the CSV file and we'll investigate the problem.

I have gone through this issue the last time I had set up a new computer. I thought I had remembered on my own what to do, but wasn't succesful. This video was just what I needed. I made the mistake of trying to customize the order history file set up instead of the trade history set up. Great detail and clarity in the video. Thanks!
