If ONE fails to startup/run and you don't even see the white splash screen, it is likely that your anti-virus software is blocking its execution. We have noticed that avast! Internet Security has been the cause of this problem on a number of ocassions and simply disabling it does not work - it needs to be completely uninstalled.

To establish if this is likely to be the cause of the problem before you start uninstalling anti-virus applications, please reboot windows in safe mode and then run ONE. If you see the white splash screen followed by the login window then ONE is working (you will receive an error message if you attempt to enter your user name and password in safe mode because the computers networking functions will have been disabled and it will not be able to connect to the ONE servers).

Try to uninstall the anti-virus sofware but please make sure you physically unplug your internet connection before doing so because you will no longer be protected from viruses. Reboot and start windows in normal mode. Check if ONE is working. If ONE is working then you have identified the cause of the problem to be the anti-virus software. You will need to white-list the ONE application executable in the anti-virus software in order to continue to use ONE.
